I have always been interested in exploring and working with diverse materials: creating functional and sculptural ceramics, sewing quilts using traditional techniques but with a modern subject matter, printmaking, painting and taking everyday materials and altering their function. I explore the relationship between materials. Whether it is incorporating multiple mediums into one piece or giving new meaning to existing objects.

Though experimenting with different mediums, there are always commonalities: perceptions of women, images of my past, and nature are ever present in my work. With each subject I chose the medium that will best help me create my idea.It can be sequins to show the dazzling feathers of a hummingbird or a map as the backdrop for a scene.

In each series I advance my exploration of mixing mediums and continue to delve into myself and the outside world for my subject matter.
